About me

Hi, I am Keya Williams. I am a graduate counseling intern, earning my Master’s in Counseling and Human Services at Lehigh University. Under the tutelage of my clinical supervisor, Kenneth Englund, M.Ed, LPC, I work with people who want support in managing the challenges, stressors, and traumas of life. While, I am currently in training to be a therapist, I have over a decade of experience in the health and wellness industry, using yoga and mindfulness-based strategies to help my wellness clients and students overcome obstacles, and achieve balanced and healthy physical-emotional lives.

My education includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology Pre-Medicine, a Master’s of Science in Applied Psychology, as well as a 200-hour Yoga Teacher certification.  I am currently learning and applying the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of psychotherapy in assisting clients towards healing. Helping others live their best life has been my work for over 20 years. First as a researcher studying ways to help chronic pain patients manage their emotional well-being, then to teaching groups and individuals how to use yoga and mindfulness to live a balanced life.  A life in which they feel free to fully engage, confident to manage and overcome challenges, and inspired to learn, grow and optimize their potential.

What to Expect in Counseling

I believe everyone deserves a safe space to be seen, heard, and validated. A space where even when you feel your worst, you will not be judged for your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors. This is the type of therapeutic environment that I create for my clients. I offer a multicultural approach, bringing my authentic self to the therapy room so that my clients can feel free to be their authentic self.
In the counseling room, I view my clients as experts on their lives and their goals. In keeping with this perspective, I understand that each client comes into therapy with their own innate wisdom to discern what is right for them. My job is to offer my clinical expertise to assist them in uncovering and then navigating towards those goals. Thank you for considering me to join you in your journey.
