About me
Hello, my name is Kyle Dawson and I am a graduate student studying to receive my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Commonwealth University-Lock Haven. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work through Commonwealth University-Lock Haven. Through my education and career, I have worked with a wide range of individuals who presented with anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance abuse, schizoaffective disorder, trauma, and stress. Additionally, I have experience facilitating substance abuse and personal growth treatment groups for men and women. What to Expect in Counseling When working with clients, I take a humanistic approach to which I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to emphasize my clients free will, self-actualization and the importance of a supportive environment for psychological well-being. This approach is focused on individual potential and personal growth in which I aim to bring awareness to a client's viewpoints of their own life. By establishing a strong therapeutic relationship, we can conquer those self-proclaimed shortcomings and build on a new foundation together to bring about stability and peace to your life. Trust, strength, courage and integrity are cornerstones to overcome obstacles we have in our life; So, by leaning into your natural behavioral tendencies, we can build a healthier YOU and find a treatment plan suitable for your life. No matter what your station is in this life, we are in it together and I will always be willing to lift up those who may need it. I look forward to working with you! |
